Chimes: Digital Edition!

Well, I keep realizing more and more and more things that are impacted by this virus and another one of them just came up: the distribution of the Rockland Chimes publication. There is a faithful crew of people who normally meet to fold it and that couldn't happen this go-round for obvious reasons.

Instead, I give you "Chimes: Digital Edition".

This is great timing for something like this because the stories in Chimes celebrate the goodness of God. As you read through it, be reminded of the great truth that God is always at work. You will get to read articles and see stories of the faithfulness of God at Rockland and with our ministry partners even in troubling times.

Our fallen eyes can deceive us into thinking that all is lost or that maybe God is on vacation. Be reminded today of Psalm 121:4. That "He who keeps Israel, neither slumbers nor sleeps".

God is alive and well. He is watching and waiting for you and I to humble ourselves and cry out to Him. On our YouTube Bible study Tuesday morning,I quoted something by C.S. Lewis about humility.

“If anyone would like to acquire humility, I can, I think, tell him the first step. The first step is to realize that one is proud. And a biggish step, too. At least, nothing whatever can be done before it. If you think you are not conceited, it means you are very conceited indeed.”

God moves in the humble heart. We get to be a part of what He is up to when we humble ourselves and cry out to Him. Monday fasting and praying was a humbling experience for me, reminding me of my need for God. The often quoted 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, referring to the Old Testament nation of Israel, "if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

It starts with humility.

Ask that God make you humble today.

Hope you'll be watching on Sunday.
